Ngalina returns to the Green & Blue for his second season, following an electric year of goals and backflips in 2024. He led the team in assists (5) and minutes played (2,623) by a margin of more than 200, and finished second on the squad with eight goals and 27 shots on target. Ngalina was one of only two players on the team to score a goal with both his right and left foot, and the only player to do so multiple times with both feet (6 right-footed, 2 left-footed). His performance earned three USL Championship Team of the Week honors (Weeks 15, 19, & 24), as well as the 2024 Hartford Athletic Fans Choice Offensive Player of the Year.
USL EXPERIENCE
Entering American soccer in 2018, Ngalina has put together a stellar career resume in the USL Championship spanning six seasons. Born and raised in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ngalina came to the United States as part of the elite Montverde Academy and was signed in 2018 by Bethlehem Steel, where he first worked with Brendan Burke. He entered the league in grand fashion, impressing with 12 goals and four assists in two seasons and earning a spot on the USL’s “20 under 20’ at the end of both campaigns.
OUTSIDE THE USL
Ngalina’s American soccer career began at Montverde Academy, where he immediately developed into a professional-level player. After two excellent seasons with Bethlehem Steel, he signed with Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union in 2019, and he also spent time in MLS on loan with Los Angeles FC in 2021.
